Thame and Watlington Circuit

On Thursday September 10 I did a one-day visit to share an important day in the Circuit’s life, the welcome of a new minister, the Revd Shameela Jameelee. An evening service, led by the District Chair, Circuit Superintendent and me, was preceded by a fish and chip supper. Food was a recurring and welcome feature through much of the day. The afternoon was spent at Chinnor, meeting people, hearing about a recent visit to Iona, and coming a proud second in ‘The President’s Cup’, a hastily arranged knock out table tennis competition. My years as a student at Wesley House were not wasted!

A fascinating feature of the Methodist building in Chinnor is the plaque above the entrance. It states that the church was built in 1872 and rebuilt in 1873. Worth a visit, to discover the story!
