My journey to the Methodist Council meeting on Monday was by way of Canterbury. I had been invited to share in the celebratory service in Canterbury Cathedral to mark 125 years of Kent College, one of our Methodist Schools. The preacher was the Revd the Lord Griffiths of Pembrey and Burry Port. There were readings, prayers and reflections by current and former students (including the current Head Boy and Head Girl); items by the Senior Choir, Choristers and Symphony Orchestra. Baroness Richardson and I led an act of dedication. Welcomes were given by the Head Master, Dr David Lamper, and the Dean of Canterbury, the Very Revd Dr Robert Willis, who also pronounced the blessing at the close of the service. One of many highlights in the service was a setting of Psalm 100, Jubilate Deo, composed for the service by Stuart McIntosh, Director of Music.
